The Spring 2014 International fashion weeks, showcasing some of the most
talented designers, are coming to an end and already it is clear that there are
a few ‘ must haves’ that you need to be focusing on for your wardrobe. We loved
the runways this season and some of our favourite top 5 key trends include:
Geometric Shapes and Colour Block –In New York, London and Milan, geometric colour and forms were seen hitting the runways. Bottega Veneta showed cased jagged patches in yellow and red, while Marni mixed pastels and neon which continues to be big with cobalt blue and black.

Pointed
Shoes
- Karl Lagerfeld kick started the flat shoe trend in January when he selected
to put all his 64 models for the Chanel collection in trainers. This trend
followed on in Milan, where designers opted to showcase their dresses with
pointed toe flat shoes. Marni revealed brightly coloured loafers with triangular
silver and golden clown type noses, No.21 showed glittery pointed shoes
inspired by the 60’s and Bottega Veneta showcased the classic men's shoe, with
a pointed-toe.

Ocean
and Sea - This season, Milan designers took their inspiration
from the sea with Kenzo debuting their how
casing their ‘ no fish’ and ocean colour collection.

The Cape is Back - Oversized
garments as seen in Victoria Beckham’s collection during New York Fashion week and in the runway
collections in Milan is a must have this season. The item that stole the show
in Milan was the cape. Dolce & Gabbanna lavishly decorated the cape with embroidery
and precious stones in the form of branches, birds and foxes but less
extravagant versions were also presented by Giorgio Armani and Salvatore Ferragamo, the cape is in!

5 Layers
and Sleeveless - This winters season trend is
sleeveless. Long
vests, trench coats and jackets without sleeves hit the runways. These designs were showcase by Iceberg,
MaxMara and MSMG . Layers is the magic trend to keep warm this winter and still
look stylish. In many cases, designers showed sleeveless jackets which could be
worn as a dress. So bear these trends in mind when putting together your
wardrobe this season.
